The World Team roster for the 2013 Hoop Summit, one of the most important events in the pre-draft season, was announced today. The Summit, which has been held annually in Portland for the last 16 years, pits the top U-20 international players against the top U-20 American players.

The biggest name on the World roster is Canadian teenager Andrew Wiggins. Wiggins, the No. 1 recruit in the class of 2013, had 20 points in the World Team’s 84-75 victory in 2012.

The World team will also have two other players currently projected as first-round picks in the 2013 NBA Draft -- Mouhammadou Jaiteh of France and Sergey Karasev of Russia. Rounding out the team are Gabriel Deck (Argentina), Livio Jean-Charles (France), Dante Exum (Australia), Nikola Ivanovic (Montenegro), Dennis Schroeder (Germany), Marlo Hezonja (Croatia) and Karl Towns, Jr. (Dominican Republic):

The Hoop Summit is one of the few times the top international prospects play in the United States and it gives them a rare opportunity to impress all 30 NBA teams in person. Over the years, players from Dirk Nowitzki to Enes Kanter and Bismack Biyombo have used a strong showing in the event to boost their draft stock.

The event will be held in the Rose Garden on April 20.
