Kobe's latest criticism of the Lakers' defensive schemes has frustrated some fans. Speaking with reporters Wednesday, Lakers head coach Mike D'Antoni said he's not optimistic about the forward returning before the regular-season finale on April 17 against the Houston Rockets.
D’Antoni didn’t mention how the injury would affect his status for the postseason, assuming L.A. makes it, but his progress in coming weeks will likely affect that.
World Peace suffered the injury during the Lakers' loss against the Golden State Warriors on Monday. Afterward, D'Antoni sounded much more optimistic than he did when offering an update Wednesday.
With World Peace out of action, D'Antoni says that Jodie Meeks will take his place in the starting lineup. A shooting specialist that stands just 6'4, Meeks will give L.A. a significantly smaller opening lineup than the one featuring World Peace.
