Dwyane Wade injury update: Heat star to play vs. Bulls

Dwyane Wade will suit up as Miami goes for its 28th straight win Wednesday night against Chicago.

Steve Mitchell-USA TODAY Sports

Looking to help his teammates extend their record-breaking win streak, Miami Heat star Dwyane Wade says he will "give it a go" in Wednesday night's game against the Chicago Bulls, Aggrey Sam of CSN Chicago reports.

After missing the team’s past two games with a sore right knee, it appears Wade will return to the court in his hometown. A native of Chicago, Wade has primarily been held out in recent days for precautionary reasons, as the injury isn’t considered serious.

As good as Wade has been this season, he looked noticeably limited in the games prior to his recent absence. After scoring 20-plus points in 13 straight games through mid-March, Wade failed to reach that mark in the three games before deciding to sit out. In those three contests, he shot just 42 percent from the field.

The Bulls may also be shorthanded in the game, as Hot Hot Hoops, SB Nation's Heat blog, points out that Joakim Noah could miss the game. Wade will be giving it a shot, though, and the folks there say they'd be surprised if Noah didn't do the same.

Wednesday’s game against Chicago will be broadcast nationally by ESPN starting at 7 p.m. ET.
