Kobe Bryant and Steve Nash to play vs. Kings

Kobe Bryant (foot) and Steve Nash (hip) will play on Saturday night against the Kings.

Kobe Bryant and Steve Nash both participated in shootaround and will play on Saturday night when the Los Angeles Lakers take on the Sacramento Kings, according to the L.A. Daily News' Mark Medina. Bryant also made the announcement on his Facebook page.

More on the Lakers: Silver Screen and Roll

Bryant has a bone spur in his left foot and was noticeably limping in the Lakers' loss to the Milwaukee Bucks on Thursday. Afterward, he left the BMO Harris Bradley Center on crutches. The veteran guard recently missed two games after severely spraining his ankle.

Nash left the loss to the Bucks in the third quarter because of a right hip spasm. He suffered the injury on Monday against the Golden State Warriors, but played through it on Wednesday and tried again on Thursday before leaving the game.

The Lakers need Bryant and Nash in the lineup as they head down the stretch. Los Angeles has lost four of their last five games and has slipped back to ninth in the Western Conference. The Lakers and the Utah Jazz share an identical 37-36 record, but the Jazz have the No. 8 seed due to the tiebreaker.
