Danny Granger injury: Pacers’ forward to miss a week with lingering knee pain
Pacers forward Danny Granger will miss a week of action with lingering knee pain, which is a major concern for the organization.
Danny Granger's knee problems are not going away, and his slow recovery is becoming a major cause for concern in the Indiana Pacers' organization. The Pacers' forward will miss an additional week of action with soreness in his knee, according to Gary Washburn of the Boston Globe.
Mike Wells of the Indy Star reports had initially reported that Granger was questionable for Wednesday night's game against the Boston Celtics due to "above average" soreness in his left knee. The forward missed practice on Tuesday and had officially been listed as day-to-day.

Granger made his season debut on Feb. 23 after rehabbing his knee, which he injured before the beginning of the year. He was on a strict minutes plan, playing in 19 minutes in each of his first three games. But last Friday against the Toronto Raptors, pain began to crop up again in the knee. He was limited to 10 minutes in that game and just eight in the following game against the Chicago Bulls on Sunday.
The Pacers were hoping Granger could come back and acclimate himself quickly in order to help with a playoff push. He has led the team in scoring the past five seasons, and a healthy duo of Granger and Paul George could be awfully dynamic.
But these latest setbacks are certainly troublesome, although Pacers head coach Frank Vogel says there are no talks yet of shutting down Granger for the rest of the season. Expecting Granger to get back to his usual self by the playoffs may be a long shot at this point, so now Indiana may just have to hope that he can be an effective role player. Although maybe they have to hope he even plays at all.
