Kentavious Caldwell-Pope leaves Georgia for 2013 NBA Draft

DraftExpress has Caldwell-Pope being selected in its 2014 mock draft, but NBADraft.net has him going 17th overall in 2013. Goodman estimates the shooter will be taken between the 20th to 40th overall picks.

The SEC Player of the Year in the eyes of both the coaches and Associated Press writers, Caldwell-Pope enters the professional ranks after a much-improved season.

During his freshman year, the 6’5, 205 pound shooting guard averaged 13.2 points and 5.2 rebounds per game, but he improved to average 18.7 points per game and 7.1 rebounds as a sophomore. The point increase wasn’t by volume but efficiency. Though Caldwell-Pope’s 43.3 percent shooting has room for improvement, it is an increase from the 39.6 percent of his freshman campaign.

The biggest jump in production was in Caldwell-Pope’s three-point shooting, which rocketed from 30 percent to 37.3 percent. He also improved his free throw shooting from 65.4 percent to 79.9 percent and also more than doubled his free throw attempts.
