Former All-Star Tracy McGrady will sign with the San Antonio Spurs for the remainder of the season, reports Yahoo! Sports' Adrian Wojnarowksi. The veteran swingman played in China this season but has not been with an NBA team, meaning he'll be eligible for the playoffs.
Tracy McGrady to sign with San Antonio Spurs, according to report
The San Antonio Spurs will sign veteran swingman Tracy McGrady after waiving Stephen Jackson earlier this week.

The Spurs made a surprising move this week, waiving veteran forward Stephen Jackson. That opened up a roster spot for McGrady, who sat courtside at a game between the Indiana Pacers and Cleveland Cavaliers last week. In an interview with NBA.com, he made no hints toward an NBA return.
San Antonio likely wanted another guard as insurance for Manu Ginobili, who has been banged up as the playoffs approach.
McGrady averaged 5.2 points, 2.1 assists and three rebounds per game last season for the Atlanta Hawks. He spent the last three seasons in Atlanta, Detroit, New York and Houston and hasn't averaged double-digit scoring averages since the 2008-09 season with the Rockets.
McGrady has career averages of 19.6 points, 4.4 assists and 5.6 rebounds per game.
