Carmelo Anthony was the best player on the court Wednesday, and he went to great lengths to prove it in a 102-90 New York Knicks win over the Miami Heat.
Knicks vs. Heat final score: Carmelo Anthony scores 50 in 102-90 Knicks win
With LeBron and Wade on the bench, Carmelo had fun Wednesday.
Anthony tied his career high with 50 points against Miami, shooting 18-of-26 from the floor to extend the Knicks’ win streak to nine games. Anthony was also 7-of-10 from beyond the arc.
The Heat were without LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Mario Chalmers for the second-straight game. Wade and Chalmers are each dealing with ankle sprains, and James has been suffering from hamstring tightness.
The game was much more important for New York than it was Miami. With the win, the Knicks moved back into a tie for second place in the Eastern Conference with the Indiana Pacers, who won Monday against the Los Angeles Clippers.
Chris Bosh had 23 points for the Heat.
