The Celtics struggled through an up and down regular season and enter the playoffs without one of their most dynamic playoff performers, Rajon Rondo, who went down with a season-ending injury in January. The Celtics will not only have to turn around their overall regular season performance, they'll have to figure out a way to play better against the Knicks in particular, who won three of four against the Celtics in the regular season.
New York enters the series led by Carmelo Anthony, looking to lead the Knicks further than the first round of the playoffs for the first time since the 1990-2000 season. Anthony had a torrid April, averaging 36.9 points per game in eight games and overtaking Kevin Durant to win his first NBA scoring title.
The Celtics have advanced to at least the second round of the playoffs for five straight years.
Game time: 3 p.m. ET
Location: Madison Square Garden, New York, N.Y.
