The Brooklyn Nets and Los Angeles Clippers will be looking to go up 2-0 in their respective series on Monday after impressive Game 1 victories on Saturday night.
NBA playoff schedule 2013: Bulls-Nets, Grizzlies-Clippers in action Monday
The Nets and Clippers look to take commanding 2-0 series leads on Monday. Brooklyn blew out Chicago on Saturday while Los Angeles handled Memphis with relative ease.
The Nets will kick off the night against the Chicago Bulls at 8 p.m. ET on TNT. Brooklyn handled Chicago with ease in Game 1, rushing out to a big lead at halftime and never looking back in a 106-89 victory. Deron Williams' resurgence continued, as he scored 22 points and dished out seven assists while controlling the entire game.
Brook Lopez dominated in the paint, scoring 21 points and blocking three shots. Joe Johnson added 16 points and Gerald Wallace chipped in with 14 points and six rebounds.
Not much went right for the Bulls, although Carlos Boozer did have 25 points and Nate Robinson scored 17 off the bench on 8-of-12 shooting. Chicago's trademark defense was noticeably absent, allowing Brooklyn to shoot 55.8 percent from the field. A big reason for that was due to Joakim Noah's foot injury, as plantar fasciitis limited him to 13 ineffective minutes. Noah is expected to play in Game 2, although it's unknown in what capacity.
In the nightcap, the Clippers host the Grizzlies at 10:30 p.m. on TNT. Los Angeles had little trouble against the normally stout Memphis defense in Game 1, shooting 55.4 percent from the field. The Clippers also dominated the Grizzlies on the glass, winning the rebounding battle 47-23.
Chris Paul led the Clippers with 23 points and seven assists while Eric Bledsoe had 15 points off the bench on 7-of-7 shooting. Seven Clippers scored in double figures and the bench had 49 points as a group. Jerryd Bayless led the Grizzlies with 19 points off the bench.
