Guard Pablo Prigioni is likely to play on Tuesday in the New York Knicks' Game 2 against the Boston Celtics, according to Howard Beck of the New York Times. The veteran point guard practiced on Monday and though coach Mike Woodson is holding his tongue until gameday, all indications indicate Prigioni will be ready after sitting out Game 1 with an ankle sprain.
Pablo Prigioni injury: Knicks guard probable Tuesday vs. Celtics
The New York Knicks will likely receive a boost in the backcourt in Game 2 against the Boston Celtics.
The Knicks' offense stalled at times in the 85-78 win in Madison Square Garden, and the two point guard lineup that Woodson often uses with Prigioni and either Jason Kidd or Ray Felton will likely return in Game 2. Prigioni could also help defensively, and Woodson suggested a few matchup changes should his 36-year-old Argentinian be ready to play. Woodson could place Prigioni on Celtics point guard Avery Bradley, Iman Shumpert on Jeff Green and Felton on Pierce, according to NBA.com's John Shuhmann.
In general, both teams will likely be making very different changes to their gameplans. Boston’s offense struggled to a greater degree than New York’s by scoring 25 total points in the second half of Saturday’s game, and the Knicks hit just 40.5 percent of their shots.
