Report: Miami’s Shane Larkin to declare for draft

Miami guard Shane Larkin will forego his final two years of college and declare himself eligible for the NBA Draft, according to Andy Katz of ESPN.

Larkin had previously scheduled a press conference for 6 p.m. on Sunday to announce his decision, but Katz says the announcement might now be moved up. Sunday is the deadline for underclassmen to declare for the draft.

A second team Associated Press All-American in 2012-13, Larkin averaged 14.5 points and 4.6 assists as he led Miami to 29 wins and both the ACC regular season and tournament championships. The Hurricanes earned a No. 2 seed in the NCAA Tournament, but were upset by Marquette in the Sweet 16.

Larkin, who is projected to be taken somewhere in the first round of the draft, is the son of Hall of Fame baseball player and current ESPN analyst Barry Larkin.
