Oklahoma City Thunder point guard Russell Westbrook has a tear in the meniscus of his right knee and will need to undergo surgery, the Thunder announced. There is no timetable for his return to the floor.

Russell Westbrook will undergo surgery after sustaining a knee injury on Wednesday night in Game 2. It’s a huge blow for the Thunder.
Westbrook played 37 minutes and scored 29 points in the Thunder's Game 2 win over the Rockets on Wednesday night, and the team says the guard injured his knee in the second quarter of that contest.

Westbrook was running up the court to call a timeout when Rockets guard Patrick Beverley ducked in to steal the ball. The fifth-year guard landed awkwardly and continued to play, but now he will need to heal after surgery.
The Thunder are in Houston for Game 3 on Saturday night, and they have a 2-0 series lead. But this injury could change the landscape of the Western Conference playoff bracket, as Westbrook is a huge part of the OKC offense. Reggie Jackson would be next in line to pick up minutes when Westbrook is out.
