The Denver Nuggets will start JaVale McGee for Game 5 of their Western Conference Playoff series against the Golden State Warriors, reports Nuggets radio announcer Jason Kosmicki. It's McGee's first start this season. He'll join Wilson Chandler, Kenneth Faried, Andre Iguodala and Ty Lawson on the floor to match up with small-ball Golden State, as the Nuggets look to avoid elimination at home in the Pepsi Center.

McGee’s impact has been minimal in this series. After scoring nine points and putting in six rebounds in 23 minutes of work in Game 1, McGee averaged five points and just over two rebounds in the next three games. McGee struggled mightily in Oakland, shooting 3-8 and grabbing four rebounds while picking up seven fouls.
McGee replaces Evan Fournier, who has probably performed worse. Fournier is 6-17 from the field in this series and scored only eight points in the past three games while averaging just over ten minutes on the floor. Iguodala figures to move over to shooting guard where Fournier was starting, Chandler should slide into the 3 spot, and Faried will play power forward while McGee takes over at center. Could we have more bizarre shot-making on the horizon?
