With the Los Angeles Lakers losing earlier in the day, the Utah Jazz had an opportunity to take sole possession of the No. 8 seed in the Western Conference with a victory over the Golden State Warriors. The Jazz did just that, holding on late to grab a 97-90 victory at Oracle Arena.

The Jazz reclaimed sole possession of the No. 8 seed in the Western Conference after holding on late to grab a huge road win over the Warriors.

Mo Williams had 25 points while Al Jefferson notched a double-double with 19 points and 12 rebounds to lead Utah to victory. The Jazz's offense relied on excellent ball movement for most of the night, as they racked up 29 assists. Utah also gave Golden State a taste of their own medicine shooting wise, burying 11-of-25 from three-point land.
After falling behind by three after the first quarter and then by seven early in the second, the Jazz stormed back, finishing the half on a 25-10 run to go into the break up eight. The Warriors pulled within one midway through the third quarter, but a surge led by Jefferson pushed Utah’s lead back out to eight heading into the final frame. Golden State made it a game at the end, but Williams buried a dagger three with 13 seconds left to end all doubt.
For the Warriors, the backcourt duo of Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson combined for 42 points and David Lee added 21 points and 13 rebounds. However, the rest of the team combined for just 27 points.
