Wesley Matthews injury: Blazers SG leaves game vs. Mavericks with sprained ankle

Just days after calling out his teammates, Blazers shooting guard Wesley Matthews left Sunday night’s game against the Mavericks due to a sprained right ankle.

The hits just keep on coming for the Trail Blazers. Mired in a seven-game losing streak, Portland lost shooting guard Wesley Matthews to a sprained right ankle in Sunday night's game against the Dallas Mavericks.

Matthews injured the ankle with the Blazers trailing by 16 early in the second quarter. Matthews turned the ball over on the play and remained down on the baseline while Jae Crowder scored on the other end. Matthews was then helped to the locker room and it was determined that he would not return to the game.

Matthews has had bad luck with ankles this season, as he also sprained his left ankle earlier in the year. This injury comes just days after the four-year vet called his team out for their dreadful performance of late. The Blazers have lost all seven games during their streak by double-digits, and things are not looking promising against the Mavs.
