It’s tough to be any more impressive than the initial Sports Illustrated story where Jason Collins shared his sexuality with the world, but Collins on TV is every bit as eloquent and entertaining. After the craziest 24 hours of his life, Collins sat down for an extended interview with “Inside The NBA” on Tuesday night. And it was great.
Jason Collins talks to Charles Barkley and ‘Inside The NBA’ about coming out
Jason Collins talked to Charles Barkley and “Inside The NBA” on Tuesday, explaining his decision to go public with his sexuality and more.

Charles Barkley and Shaq praised him for his courage, and Kenny Smith promised that he’ll be included in “whatever circle that you want to be in.” Otherwise, Collins discusses his decision in depth, and also talks about his career, in general. He says he’s “without a doubt” better than his twin brother on the basketball court, but not quite as good on the golf course.
“But you know what,” Collins adds, “Charles, I’ll still beat you.”
“Don’t brag about that,” Barkley says. “Nobody brags about beating the Sacramento Kings.”
Come for the insight into Collins and his decision, stay for the jokes.
