New York Knicks assistant coach Darrell Walker will soon interview with the Detroit Pistons for their head coaching vacancy, according to a report from ESPN's Marc Stein.

Knicks assistant coach Darrell Walker will soon become the fifth person to interview for the Pistons’ open head coaching job.

Walker has some history with the Pistons, as he was an assistant under Michael Curry and John Kuester from 2008-11 before joining Mike Woodson's staff in 2012. Walker also played in Detroit from 1991-93.
Walker does have some head coaching experience, although he was very unsuccessful. He coached the Toronto Raptors for a season and a half, compiling a record of 41-90 before being let go during the 1997-98 season. During the 1999-2000 season, Walker replaced Gar Heard in Washington, but he was then replaced by Leonard Hamilton after going 15-23.
With the addition of Walker, the Pistons' list of coaching candidates to replace Lawrence Frank sits at five. Detroit already interviewed Nate McMillan, Suns interim coach Lindsey Hunter, Spurs assistant coach Mike Budenholzer and Rockets assistant J.B. Bickerstaff.
