The NBA fined Chicago head coach Tom Thibodeau $35,000 for his critical comments about the game officials following a Game 3 loss to the Miami Heat, the league announced on Sunday.

The Bulls were caught up in another physical battle with Miami on Friday night. For the second game in a row, they lost their cool and then the game to the tune of a 104-94 final score.

The tensions rose in the first half, when Chicago big man Nazr Mohammed hacked LeBron James to stop a fast break just past halfcourt. James flung his arm and knocked Mohammed to the floor. Just after officials called a technical on James for the play, the Bulls big man got off the deck and shoved the MVP to the ground.

Thibodeau said James flopped in reaction to the shove. Chicago’s coach also questioned the officials’ next move -- throwing Mohammed out of the game.

Most of Thibodeau's answers to questions in Friday's postgame press conference went back to the officiating. He wondered about questionable plays from Miami's Udonis Haslem and Chris Andersen, then pointed out that Bulls center Joakim Noah received a technical for pushing Andersen off Chicago's Nate Robinson.
