The Chicago Bulls, hobbled as is, will be without point guard Kirk Hinrich for Game 6 against the Brooklyn Nets, and they could be without three other players as well. Hinrich has been ruled out because of an ongoing calf bruise, and Luol Deng, Taj Gibson and Nate Robinson are each game-time decisions with an illness, according to the team.
Bulls’ Hinrich out for Game 6 while Deng, Gibson and Robinson are game-time decisions
The Chicago Bulls will be without Kirk Hinrich because of his problematic calf injury while Luol Deng, Taj Gibson and Nate Robinson could miss Game 6 because of illness.
Chicago Tribune reporter K.C. Johnson reported that Deng walked through the locker room “practically shivering.” The small forward and Gibson had missed the team’s shootaround on Thursday, and later in the afternoon, Robinson was added to the list of sick players.
Any additional losses after Hinrich will be significant, especially if one or both of Deng and Robinson are involved. Robinson is the team's second-highest scorer in the five playoff games at 17.8 points per game, and Deng is third with a 13.8 average. Only Carlos Boozer averages more at 18.2 points per game.
Chicago has struggled mightily to score in the series. The Bulls only topped the 91-point mark in regulation during a 142-134 triple-overtime win against Brooklyn in Game 4.
They do, however, lead the series 3-2 entering Thursday’s game at the United Center.
