The Los Angeles Clippers have contacted Jeff Van Gundy as part of their search for a new head coach, reports Yahoo! Sports. The contact was only to check his interest, without anything as formal as setting up an interview.
Jeff Van Gundy contacted about Clippers’ head coach job, according to report
The Clippers are the latest team to reach out to Jeff Van Gundy about a head coaching job. Is he any more likely to leave broadcasting this time around?

Van Gundy is widely regarded as one of the more valuable unattached head coaches, although no one has been able to lure him from his broadcaster's chair to date. He was mentioned in the Brooklyn Nets' recent coaching search, but never interviewed.
Van Gundy last coached the Houston Rockets, from 2003 to 2007. He had a 182-146 record with the team. A long time assistant to the legendary Pat Riley, he has a career record of 430-318, and made the playoffs in nine of his 11 seasons as a head coach. He coached the New York Knicks from 1995 to 2002, with the 1999 Eastern Conference champion Knicks being his most successful season.
