Boris Diaw could make his way back from a back injury and Tiago Splitter is a game-time decision for the San Antonio Spurs’ series opener against the Golden State Warriors.

Previewing San Antonio's Game 1 against the Warriors Diaw has not played since a regular season game on April 6 because of a back injury, and Splitter has been out with a sprained ankle since a April 26 victory in Game 3 against the Los Angeles Lakers. Splitter was expected to miss seven to 10 days, and Monday marks the 10th day since his injury.
During the regular season, Diaw played 23 minutes per game and averaged 5.8 points and 3.4 rebounds per game. His return will give coach Gregg Popovich the option to go with a more skilled lineup, while the possibility of Splitter playing also gives San Antonio added depth.
Splitter, also an underrated passer out of the post, averaged five points, four rebounds and 2.3 assists in his three playoff appearances against the Lakers in the opening round of the playoffs.
