Larry Drew, Hawks coaches preparing to be let go, according to report

After another short trip to the postseason, Hawks coach Larry Drew and his assistants have reportedly started seeking out new job opportunities.

Atlanta Hawks head coach Larry Drew and members of his coaching staff have begun preparing for the likelihood that they won't be retained for next season, Marc J. Spears of Yahoo! Sports reports.

With the respective contracts of Drew and his assistants expiring July 1, Hawks general manager Danny Ferry is expected to make a final decision on the staff this week. Given that the coaches have reportedly begun seeking out new job opportunities already, the writing is likely on the wall following another good-not-great season.

After overhauling the team's roster last offseason, trading star player Joe Johnson and former top pick Marvin Williams to free up cap flexibility, the coaching staff could be Ferry's next target for change.

In three seasons as the head coach in Atlanta, Drew has recorded a 128-102 record with brief postseason appearances each year. Despite having talented players like Johnson, Josh Smith and Al Horford, Drew was unable to take Atlanta to the next level.
