George Karl will interview for the Memphis Grizzlies head coaching position on Monday, reports Yahoo! Sports' Marc J. Spears. The former Denver Nuggets head coach is one of a number of head coaching candidates for Memphis.

Karl, the reigning NBA Coach of the Year, will follow Chicago Bulls assistant Ed Pinckney's interview on Thursday, according to USA Today, and former Phoenix Suns head coach Alvin Gentry's interview that Spears previously wrote about is on Friday. The Grizzlies also consider outgoing coach Lionel Hollins' assistant Dave Joerger a serious candidate in their search.

Karl was ousted from Denver on June 6 after he led the Nuggets to a franchise-best 57 wins. The Nuggets lost to the Golden State Warriors in the first round of the playoffs and despite making the postseason in every one of Karl's nine seasons there advanced to the second round just once.

The Los Angeles Clippers have also expressed interest in Karl in their search to replace fired coach Vinny Del Negro.
