Celtics will take Doc Rivers back if Clippers talks stall, according to report

Report also indicates Clippers’ unwillingness to part with DeAndre Jordan and Eric Bledsoe has caused potential deal to stall.

The Boston Celtics still want Doc Rivers to be their head coach, even if it's unclear Rivers wants to continue to coach the team. Hours after Brad Turner of the L.A. Times reported the Clippers' deal to bring Rivers and Kevin Garnett to Los Angeles, Yahoo! Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski reports the Celtics want Rivers to return next season. Rivers' intentions for next season haven't been made clear.

Wojnarowski also reports that the Clippers were unwilling to part with DeAndre Jordan and Eric Bledsoe in any package that would've sent Garnett to Los Angeles and also would've triggered Rivers' release from the three years and $21 million left on his contract. The Clippers' reluctance to part with Bledsoe stems from their hope to include him in a separate deal, perhaps for Orlando Magic guard Arron Afflalo.

Turner also reported earlier the Clippers were expected to offer their head coaching position to either Lionel Hollins or Brian Shaw early next week.
