NBA Draft 2013: Kelly Olynyk will cut hair, if teams want him to

**BREAKING** KELLY OLYNYK MIGHT CUT HIS HAIR **BREAKING**

USA TODAY Sports

The most important facet of Kelly Olynyk's game could be his wingspan or his solid jumper for a 7-footer. The most noticeable part of his game, by far, is his hair -- flowing locks that cascade over a headband down to his shoulder.

The Gonzaga center discussed his NBA prospects with Tony Gallagher of The Province, and gave the disheartening news that he might have to meet with a pair of scissors before taking the court in the NBA.

And when push comes to shove, he’s likely to leave it up to his new employer as to whether it stays or goes, the only problem being he’s been playing like Samson against the Phillistines [sic] ever since he grew it out.

“I’m guessing that may have to be a collaborative decision,” he says, still being able to chuckle despite all the questions.

“I was going to cut it for charity and if I ever do, I’ll certainly do that when the time comes.”

Olynyk’s follicular fortitude is preceded by two players with similar origins: Like Olynyk, Steve Nash is Canadian, and sported long, straight hair, and although he had to brush it out of the way a lot while playing, it didn’t matter, as he had the floppy hair during his back-to-back MVP seasons with the Phoenix Suns.

But Adam Morrison’s bushy hair and grimy mustache got plenty of comments as he helped make Gonzaga a powerhouse, eventually being selected No. 3 overall by the Charlotte Bobcats. He turned out to be a serious bust, only averaging double-digit scoring once -- his rookie season -- and was out of the league in four years. He eventually cut his hair when he held a bench-warming role with the Los Angeles Lakers.

Olynyk is projected to go No. 23 overall by Jonathan Tjarks in his most recent mock draft.
