The Denver Nuggets are set to interview Vinny Del Negro for the team's head coaching vacancy this weekend, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports. Del Negro was let go as the head coach of the Los Angeles Clippers after leading the team to 56 wins last season; his failure to advance the team out of the first round of the postseason ended his three-year stay as the leader of Lob City.

Del Negro will be the third coach interviewed by the Nuggets this offseason, joining former Grizzlies coach Lionel Hollins and Pacers assistant Brian Shaw.

It's been an offseason of change in Denver that few could have predicted after the Nuggets were eliminated by the Golden State Warriors in the first round. First came the loss of general manager and reigning Executive of the Year Masai Ujiri, followed by an abrupt decision to part ways with coach George Karl.

The Nuggets have a young and talented squad that would be appealing to any coach interviewing for the job. The free agency of wing Andre Iguodala could go a long way towards determining how competitive Denver is next season.
