The Brooklyn Nets announced Monday that center Brook Lopez had the screw in his surgically repaired right foot replaced after postseason physical revealed it was bent.

Nets center Brook Lopez recently underwent surgery to replace a screw in his right foot. Lopez is expected to resume basketball activities in August.

The Nets didn’t say when the surgery took place, but they expect Lopez to resume basketball-related activities in August and hopefully be ready for the start of next season.

Lopez first broke his right foot in December 2011 and missed two months before returning and fracturing the foot again. The 25-year-old big man had an injury scare with the foot this past season, suffering a sprain that kept him out two weeks in late November and early December.
Lopez returned from the injury and had an excellent year, averaging 19.4 points and 6.9 rebounds and earning his first All-Star nod. His strong play down low helped the Nets earn the No. 4 seed in the Eastern Conference, although they lost to an undermanned Chicago Bulls team in seven games in the first round of the playoffs.
