UNLV's Anthony Bennett is one of the most talented prospects in the 2013 NBA Draft, but concerns about some added weight may hurt his stock a bit. Bennett has been unable to participate in workouts due to a shoulder injury, and he has seen his weight increase to 261 pounds, according to ESPN's Chad Ford.

A shoulder injury has kept top draft prospect Anthony Bennett out of workouts, which has helped cause his weight to balloon up to 261 pounds.

Bennett was listed at 240 pounds at UNLV, so that's an added 21 pounds of weight, and not necessarily the good kind. The Washington Wizards are intrigued by Bennett with the No. 3 pick, but they also really like Georgetown's Otto Porter (scouting report). Ford has the Wizards taking Porter in his most recent mock draft.
Porter is probably the safer pick, but Bennett may have a higher ceiling. Plus, once Bennett’s able to work out again, one would expect him to get that weight back down, although that’s never a guarantee. Taking a gamble on Bennett over Porter could be a risky move, but the reward could also be great and is something Washington must seriously consider.
