Scottie Pippen was released Monday afternoon after being questioned by police for his involvement in a fight which occurred outside a Malibu sushi restaurant.

The fight broke out at approximately 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, according to the Los Angeles County sheriff’s department. Pippen spent Monday speaking to the police, but a representative for the department was quick to point out the former NBA star was not arrested for his involvement in the incident.
News broke early this afternoon that police were seeking Pippen as a possible suspect, and early reports indicated that charges of “assault with intent to inflict great bodily injury” were being sought. The other party in the fight was admitted to a local area hospital for a head injury, and was later released.
Police are continuing to investigate the fight, and have not issued any charges at this time.
Pippen has been involved with the Chicago Bulls since his retirement. In 2010 he joined the organization as a "team ambassador," and has since been promoted to "senior advisor" to Bulls president Michael Reinsdorf. The organization has not issued a statement.
