NBA Draft 2013 rumors: Timberwolves, Nets discuss MarShon Brooks trade
The Brooklyn Nets are shopping little-used guard MarShon Brooks and might have a potential suitor in the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Brooks began his young NBA career with a promising start, averaging 12.6 points for the Nets in his rookie season. But then the Nets acquired both C.J. Watson and Joe Johnson and there just weren't enough minutes to go around. Brooks went from playing close to 30 minutes a game to just 12.5 minutes this past season.
The Timberwolves hold the No. 9 and No. 26 picks in the first round of the 2013 draft, but as CBS Sports reports, it seems more likely that the Nets would get the Timberwolves’ second-round pick if any draft picks were involved in negotiations. The Timberwolves own the No. 52 and No. 59 picks of the second round.
-- As the LaMarcus Aldridge trade rumors continue to swirl, John Canzano of The Oregonian reports the Portland Trail Blazers are showing interest in Spurs center Tiago Splitter and Timberwolves center Nikola Pekovic. As Canzano notes, this comes right on the heels of a report that the Blazers could trade their No. 10 pick to the Phoenix Suns for center Marcin Gortat.
The Blazers have just one first-round pick, but also hold the No. 39, No. 40 and No. 45 picks in the second round. The Trail Blazers missed the playoffs for the second straight year and a strong draft could help quell the rumblings of some of their discontented stars.
-- The guest list for the NBA Draft green room is now set with Steven Adams (Scouting Report), Kentavious Caldwell-Pope (Scouting Report) and Sergey Karasev (Scouting Report) making the final cut, Jeff Goodman of ESPN reported on Monday. The three will join most of the potential lottery picks for television interviews during the broadcast of the draft.
An invite to the green room doesn't necessarily guarantee much, but history shows it also doesn't hurt to be on the exclusive list. As SI.com reported, out of the 14 players invited to the green room in the 2012 draft, the lowest pick was Tyler Zeller at No. 17. In 2011, the lowest of the 15 invitees was Chris Singleton at No. 18. Adams is the lowest ranked prospect on SB Nation's latest NBA Draft Big Board at No. 24.
-- The Cleveland Cavaliers continue to work out players in preparation for the draft. Mary Schmitt Boyer of the Cleveland Plain Dealer reported the Cavaliers hosted six players for workouts on Monday. The world is still in the dark with what Cleveland plans to do with the top overall pick on Thursday, and even less is known about what the plan is for the No. 19, No. 31 and No. 33 picks.
SB Nation’s Jonathan Tjarks moved Alex Len (Scouting Report) to the top spot on his latest mock draft. But at this point, it is all a guessing game as to whether the Cavs go with Len, Nerlens Noel (Scouting Report) or another player with the No. 1 pick.
