The Minnesota Timberwolves want one of either Victor Oladipo or Ben McLemore, and to nab either in the 2013 NBA Draft they'll need to move up from the ninth spot. ESPN's Marc Stein reports the Timberwolves are attempting to do just that by offering the teams with top-5 picks a package that includes Derrick Williams, along with the No. 9 and No. 26 picks.
NBA Draft rumors: Timberwolves want Victor Oladipo or Ben McLemore
The Minnesota Timberwolves hope to move up in the 2013 NBA Draft to acquire a top-5 shooting guard.

The T-Wolves have reached out to the Orlando Magic (No. 2 pick), Charlotte Bobcats (No. 4 pick) and Phoenix Suns (No. 5 pick) with the offer.
Minnesota, which was beset by injuries in 2012-13, has a formidable starting lineup on paper. While they'll hope to retain center Nikola Pekovic in free agency, Kevin Love and Ricky Rubio will return along with a number of suitable role players. But the T-Wolves don't have a shooting guard.
And with Oladipo the do-it-all athlete and McLemore being a shooter compared to Ray Allen, either would immediately challenge for time in Minnesota.
Parting with Williams might be the key in striking a deal with teams holding top-5 picks. The second overall pick from the 2011 draft has shown flashes of his upside, but has yet to put together any significant stretches thus far. He averaged 12.0 points and 5.5 rebounds per game last year.
