Bryan Colangelo has stepped aside as the president of the Toronto Raptors but will continue working as a consultant for the team, according to CBS Sports' Ken Berger. It's the second time in the last two months that the former general manager has changed his job description.

For the second time in less than two months, Bryan Colangelo has changed his position within the Toronto Raptors organization.

“I have concluded that stepping away from my position is the best course of action for the organization and everyone involved,” said Colangelo in a statement.
On May 20, Colangelo was removed from the basketball operations side of the Raptors by new Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment executive Tim Leiweke. Colangelo kept the president label that included a more business-emphasized role with the team, but it was clear the Raptors wanted to move in a new direction. They soon hired general manager Masai Ujiri away from the Denver Nuggets.

Formerly a general manager for the Phoenix Suns, Colangelo won the 2005 NBA Executive of the Year award before leaving the franchise that his father, current USA Basketball executive Jerry Colangelo, grew from its inception into the league.
Colangelo quickly found success in Toronto and won the 2007 Executive of the Year honor, but the Raptors missed the playoffs the last five years and have struggled to recover since losing forward Chris Bosh to the Miami Heat three years ago.
