The Celtics and Nets have agreed to a deal that will send Boston's Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce and Jason Terry to Brooklyn for a large package that includes three future first-round picks, according to Yahoo! Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski.

The Boston Celtics wasted no time in moving on from the Doc Rivers era, shipping off Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett and Jason Terry to the Brooklyn Nets in a blockbuster trade.

The deal was completed when Garnett agreed to waive his no-trade clause during Thursday night’s draft. It may have helped that Brooklyn agreed to fully guarantee the $12 million Garnett is owed during the 2014-15 season, according to Wojnarowski.
The teams cannot officially complete the trade until July 10, when Pierce’s new salary for the 2013-14 season begins, Wojnarowski reported.
Brooklyn will send a package of Gerald Wallace, Kris Humphries, Reggie Evans, Tornike Shengelia and the picks to the Celtics. The Nets will also sign-and-trade guard Keith Bogans to make the contracts align under the collective bargaining agreement.
But the biggest piece for the Celtics, now in a full rebuild mode, are the draft picks. The Celtics acquired one pick in each of the 2014, 2016 and 2018 drafts. The 2014 pick will be the worst of the Hawks' and Nets' first-rounders, according to ESPN's Marc Stein -- Brooklyn was owed the Atlanta pick in the Joe Johnson trade. The 2016 and 2018 are both unprotected.

Talks progressed quickly after they began Thursday, and the Nets weren't the only team interested in acquiring Garnett and Pierce. Wojnarowski reported that a Western Conference squad showed interest but in the end couldn't give up the picks and take on the salary that Brooklyn could.
A deal that first included only Garnett and Pierce soon had Terry added as the Celtics and general manager Danny Ainge sought to get the most cap relief possible from the trade. Pierce is tabbed to make $15.3 million in 2013-14 and Garnett will make $12.4 million. Terry’s additional $5.2 million salary puts the total at approximately $32.9 million for next season.
