NBA free agency rumors: Brandon Jennings wants to return to Bucks

Brandon Jennings says he has “unfinished business” in Milwaukee, signaling that he would like to re-sign with the Bucks.

Restricted free agent Brandon Jennings would like to return to the Milwaukee Bucks, and the Bucks would like to have him back, according to ESPN's Chris Broussard.

Jennings tweeted out Sunday night that he has “unfinished business” in Milwaukee, and he told Broussard in an email that he wants to be an All-Star with the Bucks:

"I definitely want to do more for the city and the franchise," Jennings responded. "I want to make the playoffs and get out of the first round and become an All-Star for the Bucks. We haven't had one since Michael Redd so I want to be the first."

The Bucks have extended Jennings a $4.3 million qualifying offer, officially making him a restricted free agent. Jennings could sign that and become an unrestricted free agent next offseason, but he’s in line for a nice payday this summer.

Jennings likely won’t get a max deal, but something around $12 million a year seems fair. The Bucks have said that they intend on matching any offer sheet that Jennings receives from another team.

Jennings had an up-and-down season in Milwaukee in 2012-13, averaging 17.5 points and a career-high 6.5 assists while shooting 39.9 percent from the field. There was some tension at times between Jennings and the coaching staff, but the point guard has applauded the hiring of new coach Larry Drew.
