The Los Angeles Clippers have received permission to speak with Pacers assistant coach Brian Shaw, according to the Orange County Register's Dan Woike. Shaw is believed to be the leader in the Clippers' head-coaching search, and a few days removed from his associate coaching duties with the Pacers will formally get into the interview process.
Clippers, Brian Shaw to talk about coach opening
The Los Angeles Clippers are chasing hard after Brian Shaw, who is reportedly their top head-coaching target.

Los Angeles also has interest in speaking with coach Lionel Hollins and have received permission from the Grizzlies to do that as well, CBS Sports reports.
The Clippers will also consider Jeff Van Gundy, Byron Scott and Alvin Gentry for their opening.
But Shaw appears to be the hot name since the Indiana Pacers were booted from the Eastern Conference Finals on Monday. The Brooklyn Nets also have Shaw atop a list of candidates for their head-coaching opening, according to Yahoo! Sports.
As it stands, Shaw will have the upper hand if multiple offers end up being on the table. The Detroit News reported earlier this week that Shaw was holding out for the Los Angeles gig, and considering the situation and his turning down other offers in the past few years, that could very well be the case.
