Tony Allen's niche in the NBA as a hounding wing defender has made him quite valuable. If he's too expensive for the Memphis Grizzlies to re-sign, the Denver Nuggets could be a threat to acquire his services, according to Yahoo! Sports Adrian Wojnarowski.

Denver has some major decisions to make despite having the majority of their 57-win team from last season returning. Swingman Andre Iguodala opted out of the final year of his contract and is a free agent. His potential to sign with another team means there could be a hole to fill, because Iguodala was the Nuggets' best perimeter defender.

Allen fits the bill to replace Iguodala in that respect, although he wouldn’t provide the same offensive versatility; Iguodala could also score a lot, leading the Nuggets with 18 points per game in the playoffs.
Allen averaged 8.9 points, 4.6 rebounds and 1.5 steals per game for the Grizzlies last season. He especially came on during the playoffs despite former coach Lionel Hollins' sometimes apprehensive attitude toward keeping him on the court.
Yahoo! Sports reported that the Pacers, Bucks and Knicks are also interested in bringing on the 31-year-old, who made the NBA's All-Defensive First Team last year.
