Boston Celtics assistant coach Jay Larranaga is set to interview for the Philadelphia 76ers' head coaching position, according to Dei Lynam of CSN Philly. Larranaga just finished his first season in the NBA as an assistant in Boston and is currently coaching the team's Summer League squad.

Larranaga, the son of long-time college coach Jim Larranaga, is just 38 years old, but already has an impressive amount of head coaching experience. Before being hired by the Celtics before last season, Larranaga spent the previous two seasons coaching the NBDL’s Erie BayHawks. He also spent two years coaching the Irish national team.
Whoever coaches the 76ers next season will need to have the virtue of patience. Philadelphia is in clear rebuilding mode after trading its best player, point guard Jrue Holiday, on draft day to the New Orleans Pelicans for the rights to center Nerlens Noel and a first-round pick next season. Philadelphia is banking on reloading through a promising 2014 draft class, but next season will likely be one full of losses.
