The Philadelphia 76ers have received permission from the Bulls to interview Chicago assistants Adrian Griffin and Ed Pinckney for the Sixers' head coaching opening, according to ESPN's Chris Broussard. Sixers general manager Sam Hinkie has done "extensive background checks" on each of the Bulls coaches, but has not yet interviewed them.

Philadelphia GM Sam Hinkie is taking his time in interviewing candidates for the head coaching job and has received permission from the Chicago Bulls to interview two assistants.

Griffin played nine season in the NBA and this offseason was interviewed by the Detroit Pistons for their coaching vacancy that was filled by Maurice Cheeks.

Pinckney played in the NBA for 11 seasons and interviewed twice for the Memphis Grizzlies' head coaching opening. He is a familiar face in Philadelphia having played for the Villanova Wildcats.
The Sixers hired Hinkie this offseason and the former Houston Rockets front office executive has taken his time in replacing coach Doug Collins. Broussard reports that Boston Celtics assistant Jay Larranaga will also be interviewed in the near future and Denver Nuggets assistant Melvin Hunt is also under consideration for the 76ers' opening.
