Chauncey Billups decided to return to his old stomping grounds as a free agent. The veteran guard expects to have the same role with the Detriot Pistons that he had when he left in 2008, too, when he was traded from Detroit to the Denver Nuggets.
Chauncey Billups expects to start at point guard for Pistons
Veteran signee Chauncey Billups will vie for a starting role despite the Detroit Pistons being deep at the point guard spot.

Billups, who signed a two-year, $5 million deal to return to the Pistons, told Ryan Slocum of Detroit's ABC 12 that he "expects" to start at the point guard spot this season. There's an obstacle, though: the 36-year-old will be competing with 21-year-old Brandon Knight, who started all 75 of the games he played in during the 2012-13 season.
Billups played just 22 games for the Los Angeles Clippers last season as he fought through injury. He didn't solely play point guard, though, as quite a few of those minutes were filled by starter Chris Paul and backup Eric Bledsoe.
