Detroit Pistons general manager Joe Dumars is looking to start the summer of 2013 with a bang. Dumars has already inquired about Boston Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo and Toronto Raptors swingman Rudy Gay, according to Ken Berger of CBS Sports.
NBA trade rumors: Pistons interested in Rajon Rondo, Rudy Gay
The Detroit Pistons are exploring all options with the goal of finding an established star.

While these inquiries don't mean the Celtics or Raptors are listening as of now, it goes to show Dumars' approach this offseason. The Pistons have also been looking to land a big-name free agent. They have offered lucrative deals to Atlanta Hawks free agent Josh Smith and the Denver Nuggets' Andre Iguodala, according to reports.
Rondo is more likely to be traded than is Gay. Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce are off to Brooklyn, and many NBA executives expect the All-Star point guard, ACL tear and all, to be moved next. Berger reports that the Dallas Mavericks are another team that could be interested in the Rondo sweepstakes.
Gay’s situation under new management in Toronto is also yet to be determined.
