Brandan Wright will return to the Dallas Mavericks on a two-year, $10 million deal, NBA.com's David Aldridge reported on Tuesday. The contract includes $1.1 million in incentives for the big man entering his sixth NBA season.

The Dallas Mavericks have agreed to bring back power forward Brandan Wright, who had a productive season off the bench in 2012-13.

Wright was the eighth overall pick in the 2007 draft but struggled to find any form of consistency until this past season, the most productive of his career. He averaged 8.5 points, 4.1 rebounds and 1.2 blocks per game during 2012-13 in just 18 minutes per game.

While Dallas shored up its lack of a scoring option alongside Dirk Nowitzki by signing Monta Ellis, it lost big men Chris Kaman and Elton Brand to the Los Angeles Lakers and Atlanta Hawks, respectively. The Mavericks chased after Dwight Howard before he signed with the Houston Rockets and also showed interest in Andrew Bynum, but ultimately decided against offering him.
The Mavs are one of several teams still in the chase for free agent center Greg Oden, but if they don't land him, are still in good shape. Dallas signed center Samuel Dalembert to pair next to Nowitzki in the frontcourt and by re-signing Wright, have a good deal of length and shotblocking in the middle.
