The Brooklyn Nets and free agent guard Alan Anderson have agreed to terms on a two-year contract, Anderson's agent confirmed to Marc J. Spears of Yahoo! Sports on Friday. The second year of the deal will be a player option, according to HoopsHype. The 6'6 guard spent four years playing overseas in Italy, Croatia, Israel and Spain, but he worked hard to get back to the NBA two years ago, and then posted a career-high 10.7 points per game in 23 minutes per night with the Toronto Raptors last season.

The Brooklyn Nets have reached a two-year agreement with former Toronto Raptors guard Alan Anderson.

The 30-year-old shooting guard is a career 34.9 percent three-point shooter in the NBA, so he may be able to help the Nets replace bench production lost with the departure of C.J. Watson, Keith Bogans and MarShon Brooks during the summer. Joe Johnson, Paul Pierce and Jason Terry will all be ahead of Anderson on the depth chart, so it will be up to him to carve out a role in the rotation. For now, he provides Brooklyn with some depth to hedge against potential injuries to the veteran leaders in the backcourt.
