The Indiana Pacers will trade Miles Plumlee, Gerald Green and a lottery-protected 2014 first-round pick to the Phoenix Suns in exchange for Luis Scola, according to Yahoo! Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski. ESPN's Marc Stein first reported that the 2014 pick is lottery protected.
Luis Scola trade: Suns will reportedly receive Miles Plumlee, Gerald Green and protected 1st-round pick
The Pacers will send Miles Plumlee, Gerald Green and a lottery-protected 2014 first-round pick to the Suns for Luis Scola.

Reports of a Scola trade to the Pacers began circulating Friday night, with some rumors stating that Danny Granger would head to Phoenix. The Granger rumors were shot down, though, replaced by Green and a future first-round pick as the key pieces going to Phoenix. Plumlee is the latest addition to the trade talks.
The 33-year-old Scola will help replace Tyler Hansbrough on a Pacers bench that was a weakness for much of the 2012-13 season. With a stronger bench in place and the return of Danny Granger to the lineup, Indiana is set up well for another run at the Miami Heat.
This deal should also work out well for Phoenix, who’s currently in rebuilding mode. Getting a 2014 draft pick is certainly a plus while Plumlee showed some flashes in Summer League. The 2012 first-round pick spent most of last year in the D-League. Green was unimpressive after signing a nice contract prior to the season’s start.
