The player's attorney, Kevin O'Connell, said that Jones didn't stomp on the man and the case would "go away."

Jones has a court date on Sept. 6, and O’Connell added that Jones was embarrassed and upset over the charges.

According to KATU.com, an officer witnessed Jones walk by a doorway occupied by two homeless men at 2 a.m. on Wednesday morning. Jones allegedly yelled at them before stomping on one man’s legs. The man had minor injuries that did not require immediate medical attention.
Jones grew up in the area and starred at Jefferson High School before attending Kentucky. He was the 2012 draft’s 18th pick and played sparingly for the Rockets during his rookie season, appearing in 19 games and averaging 5.5 points and 3.4 rebounds.
