NBA free agency rumors: Antawn Jamison, Clippers working on one-year deal

The Los Angeles Clippers appear to be in serious talks with free agent forward Antawn Jamison.

Antawn Jamison might be wearing a new uniform next season, but he might not have to change zip codes. The Los Angeles Lakers free agent is in discussions with the Los Angeles Clippers for what should be a one-year deal, according to Yahoo! Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski.

Jamison is currently recovering from a wrist ligament injury that required surgery after the Lakers’ playoff exit. He averaged 9.4 points and 4.8 rebounds last season, and despite being 37 years old could be a decent enough contributor off the bench.

Even though the Clippers also will bring back small forward Matt Barnes and added swingman Jared Dudley this offseason, Jamison could play as a big small forward but most likely will stretch the floor as a power forward.

The frontcourt depth behind Blake Griffin and DeAndre Jordan has been the team's highest priority this free agency negotiation period. The Clippers re-signed backup shot-blocker Ryan Hollins and are also interested in bringing back bruiser Ronny Turiaf, according to the Los Angeles Times.

Jamison shot 36 percent from three-point range last season and could be seen as Lamar Odom's replacement. The Lakers are interested in bringing Odom back to the other Staples Center locker room after another disappointing season in 2012-13 with the Clippers.
