Portland Trail Blazers rename Rose Garden ‘Moda Center at the Rose Quarter’

The Blazers have a new name for their arena! Nobody likes it :(

For some time, the Portland Trail Blazers have had an arena with one of the most unique, regionally specific, and, well, pretty names: the Rose Garden, meant to reflect Portland’s status as the Rose City. That time is over, as the stadium is now named the Moda Center at the Rose Quarter.

This isn’t particularly surprising -- as Blazers Edge noted before the official announcement, rumors and reports were everywhere that a deal with Moda Health had been made -- but the execution on the name is a little bit ... well ... off. It comes out like the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, and nobody’s quite sure what a “Rose Quarter” is. And as such, the internets reacted quite poorly.
