Indiana Pacers forward Chris Copeland had arthroscopic surgery Friday morning to remove a loose body in his left knee, the Pacers said in a release. The team said the surgery was successful, and the six-to eight-week recovery time means Copeland should be ready to go when training camp begins this fall.

The 6'9 forward signed a two-year, $6 million deal with the Pacers this offseason after a surprising rookie season with the New York Knicks last season at age 28. He averaged 8.7 points per game and shot 42.1 percent from 3-point range.
After a four-year college career for the Colorado Buffaloes from 2002-06, Copeland played 19 games in the D-League in 2007 before going overseas. He played in Spain, the Netherlands, Germany and Belgium for a total of five seasons before making his NBA debut last season in New York.
