Ty Lawson’s domestic violence case was granted a delay on Friday, according to ABC7 News in Denver. Prosecutors said deputies needed more time to investigate the case so the hearing has instead been moved to Sept. 13.
Ty Lawson’s hearing for domestic violence case delayed
Lawson’s hearing has been pushed back three weeks so deputies can collect more evidence.

Lawson and his pregnant girlfriend, Ashley Nicole Pettiford, were both arrested Saturday night. Lawson was eventually charged with physical harassment and criminal mischief after police determined there was probable cause to arrest both parties. Both were later released on bond.
Arapahoe County Sheriff Grayson Robinson said the incident appeared to involve kicking, screaming and the damaging of cell phones. The argument reportedly originated when Pettiford heard Lawson talking on his cell phone with another woman.
The 25-year-old point guard signed a four-year, $48 million contract extension with the Nuggets last October.
