FIBA Africa 2013 schedule: Group play concludes Sunday

The bracket for the knockout round will be finalized Sunday.

Christian Petersen

The 2013 FIBA Africa Championship tournament will reach the end of group play Sunday, when the final four games of the round-robin stage finalize seeding for Monday’s knockout round.

All 16 teams in the field qualify for the knockout stage, but seeding is still up for grabs out of Group B and Group D. Three of the top teams in the tournament play Sunday, including a match-up between the two undefeated teams atop Group D, Nigeria and Cameroon. Neither team has really been tested yet in the tournament.

Republic of Congo and Mali conclude Group D play Sunday

Three teams could still win Group B’s top seed. Tunisia leads the group with four points and would win the group with a win Sunday over Rwanda. Morocco, which lost 56-54 to Tunisia earlier in group play, is in second place at three points and plays last-place Burkina Faso. Rwanda also has three points in the standings.
